TT PoS100
Power: 100 W RMS
Damping: 0 - 100%
Impedance: 4, 8, 16 Ohm
Line-Out
Please note in advance: The PoS is a resistive attenuator, which is used for power reduction and is connected between amplifier output and loudspeaker cabinet. It is NOT a reactive load. For this purpose the Tone-Hound must be used.
The schematic and layout plan for this kit will be sent by email together with the invoice, usually on the same day the order is sent.
The PoS100 attenuator is the steady further development of the PoS50 and provides a simple construction and simple handling together with a high power rating. The Pos100 can be used with a load of 4, 8 or 16 ohm and has a maximum power rating of 100 W.
Another addition is the available Line-Out which can be used to directly process the output signal.
The attenuator gets build in a compact chassis of 2 mm aluminium plates.
This kit comes with all items needed to build the PoS100, aluminium chassis, black faceplates, knobs, screws and schematic and layout.
The new version offers the following additional options:
-
Selection of the adjustment range (Range): this effects the resolution of the load potentiometer. High initial damping allows easier fine tuning of the final volume. With a lower basic attenuation the adjustment range is wider and covers a larger volume spectrum
-
Selection of the control behaviour (Log/Lin): depending on the amplifier, the control behaviour of the load potentiometer can be adapted
A customer has made a recording with his Marshall and PoS100 and has put it online. You can see the video on YouTube.
FAQ: Can I use the PoS100 as dummy-load ?
Yes, but you must connect a "load" to the PoS100. This must NOT be a speaker-cab ! Just use a power resistor with 8 Ohm, mount it onto a heat sink and connect it with a jack than you can use the PoS as a Dummy-Load too.
